Michael (Mike) Skahill joined DTB AgriTrade as a Partner in March 2025. He holds a business degree from Iowa State University and has attended executive education classes at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Mike has years of experience in the food and agriculture trade sector both domestically and in international markets. Previously, he was Global Director of Government Affairs for Lineage Logistics, the world’s largest temperature-controlled warehouse real estate investment trust.  Prior to that role, Skahill was with Smithfield Foods for 23 years as Vice President of International Sales and Government Affairs. 

Mike has also held leadership positions with Louis Dreyfus Corporation, the U.S. Meat Export Federation, and Cargill, Inc. He has also served as a delegate to the National Pork Board, where he recently served as Vice Chairman, and on several agricultural committees, including the MICA trade committee, the U.S. China Agricultural Food Partnership, and the USMEF trade committee.

Mike was the 2023 Co Chairman of the Spirit of Mount Vernon and has recently been appointed as the 2026 Sesquicentennial Co Chairman. The gala celebrates George Washington and America’s first farm and is the leading annual Washington DC government affairs event. Mike also serves on the Congressional Awards Foundation as a board member.

Skahill is a native of Dubuque, Iowa and currently resides with his wife in Alexandria, Virginia
