Membership application

For U.S.-based importing or end-user companies that operate multiple subsidiaries domestically or internationally. This tier is designed for large, multi-entity organizations engaged in imported meat supply chains.

All membership tiers receive the same level of benefits. Pricing is based on company size and business type to ensure fair and equitable participation across the industry.

Any entity actively engaged in the importation, distribution, processing, retail, or food service sale of imported meats—who takes title to the meat, arranges financing, and/or makes buying and selling decisions with producers and shippers—may qualify for Major Importer status.

Any entity meeting the same criteria as the Large Importer category, but with smaller-scale operations, may be classified as a Medium Importer, subject to approval by the Board.

Any entity engaged in similar activities to those described above on a smaller operational scale may be designated as a Small Importer, subject to approval by the Board.

Any entity, such as a meat broker, exporter to the United States and meat industry association representative shall be qualified to apply for membership in the Brokers, Export Suppliers and Associations category.

Any entity such as a warehouse operator, carrier, laboratory, consultant, or similar, whose interests align with MICA’s objectives and who directly or indirectly benefits from the import or export of meat, may apply for membership in the Ancillary category.
