Cargill’s Todd Wheelock Elected Vice Chair of Meat Import Council of America
Todd Wheelock, senior director of beef procurement at Cargill, was elected vice chair of the Meat Import Council of America during MICA’s 64th Annual General Meeting in Fort Worth, Texas.
“Leadership in global trade requires foresight, collaboration and commitment to progress – values that Todd has demonstrated throughout his time with MICA,” said Michael Skahill, MICA executive director. “We’re thrilled to welcome Todd into this important role. His extensive experience across sourcing and international trade will help inform MICA’s advocacy and industry guidance.”
Wheelock has spent more than two decades in the meat trade, overseeing key import programs and cultivating long-term relationships across global supply chains. He has served on the MICA Board of Directors since 2010.
At Cargill, Wheelock leads international procurement and supply chain strategies supporting the company’s North American beef business. He brings a deep understanding of the meat industry and a proven track record of navigating complex trade environments while fostering collaborative supplier relationships.
“It’s a privilege to take on this leadership role within MICA,” said Wheelock as he accepted the position. “Our organization plays a vital role in representing importers and building understanding among policymakers, producers and global partners. I look forward to continuing MICA’s work and collaborating with members and stakeholders to ensure our organization remains a trusted resource for the importer community.”
Dana Ehrlich, chairman of MICA’s Executive Committee, added: “I’m looking forward to working with Todd to pursue MICA’s goals. His deep understanding of the organization, trade policy and supply chain logistics will be invaluable as we work to serve our members and support consumer choice and a reliable meat supply.”
Wheelock assumed the role of vice chair immediately following the conclusion of MICA’s 64th Annual General Meeting.
